The "Erlebnisweg Roßlochklamm" adventure trail is not far from Mürzsteg - in the middle of the Naturpark Mürzer Oberland.

Awarded as the “Most Creative Educational Path in Austria” in 2008 and “Thematic Path of the Year 2014”, the cycle of life is illustrated in a humorous way and biological connections are conveyed on this adventure path. For nature lovers away from the mainstream, the narrowness of the Roßlochklamm offers wild romance and, thanks to the water-filled forest ditches with lots of dead wood and near-natural forest vegetation, impressive nature experiences. This landscape protection area has been used for forestry by the ÖBf for a long time. In the past, the wood was transported out of the gorge with the help of horses and sledges on paths that are still recognizable today. In the hillside and ravine forests you can find sycamore maple and common ash. Otherwise, common beech, silver fir and spruce are predominant. Favored by high levels of rainfall, dense herbs grow on the brook and the protected stag's tongue fern thrives on steep slopes. The endangered lung lichen only grows on old trees and is an indicator of "clean air".
