In green meadows, in lush vineyards, in flower gardens, on idyllic alpine pastures, in stunning palace gardens or in beautiful courtyards: Cultural events in Styria often take place outdoors, especially from May to October. That's when the event calendar holds a wide variety of activities and highlights in store – all the way from the alpine north to the fertile south, from the mountains to the Wine Country.

You could marvel at contemporary art in the Austrian Sculpture Park, for instance. Or visit Styrian castles and palaces along the Castle Road, surrounded by mountain views and vineyards. Historic monasteries and convents such as Admont Abbey can be explored on a guided tour. Of course! Some of the cultural events can take place no matter the weather, because if it rains, they can simply be held in another location. Some other events, such as musical hikes, unfortunately, cannot be moved indoors and will have to be cancelled ahead of time in case of bad weather. To be on the safe side, it's best to contact the organiser of the event directly if you're not sure if it will take place.
